Maintenance Fitter – Johannesburg NEW
Job Description
RPO Recruitment is actively seeking a qualified Maintenance Fitter to join our client’s team based in Cosmo City, Johannesburg. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on, detail-oriented professional to take responsibility for maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment and systems in a dynamic production environment. Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on mechanical equipment and systems
- Diagnose faults and repair or replace defective components
- Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to address recurring mechanical issues
Requirements
- Matric or equivalent qualification
- Trade Test Certificate: Fitter or Fitter & Turner (essential)
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Fitter in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Solid understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, pumps, and bearings
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
- High attention to detail and safety-conscious
