Bottling Manager – Paarl
Job Description
RPO Recruitment’s client is looking for a Bottling Manager to join their team in Paarl, Western Cape.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the bottling and packaging operations, ensuring efficient processes, high-quality output, and continuous improvement in a production environment.
Responsibilities:

Develop and implement strategic processes, policies, and procedures for the packaging department

Manage the packaging cost centre, Capex, and extraordinary budgets

Approve or reject SAP requisitions
-
Oversee production order variances and ensure timely reporting to GM
-
Maintain and update packaging scorecards and provide feedback to executive leadership
-
Lead and manage bottling and packaging operations across internal and external partners
-
Collaborate with team leaders and quality control to ensure operational excellence

Monitor production processes for quality control and address deviations or issues
-
Participate in relevant committees and provide expert recommendations
-
Research and identify suitable bottling suppliers and machinery requirements
-
Drive production efficiency, line speed, and minimize downtime
-
Schedule production effectively to meet delivery and efficiency targets

Ensure compliance with governance, audit, and safety standards
-
Lead health and safety oversight in the department

Handle HR-related tasks such as leave approvals and team development
-
Foster a positive organizational culture through coaching and regular engagement
-
Manage service level agreements and contract packers both on- and off-site
Requirements:
-
Relevant tertiary qualification
-
7–10 years of experience in a similar role within bottling/packaging
-
Solid knowledge of bottling, labelling, and packaging processes
-
Proven people and performance management experience (minimum 5 years)
-
Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing principles
-
Excellent communication skills in English and Afrikaans
-
Strong planning, coordination, and fault-finding abilities in production
-
Ability to analyse and interpret financial data
-
Accountable for the Packaging department’s OPEX and CAPEX
