Hire Resolve’s client, a reputable and forward-thinking consulting engineering firm known for its commitment to innovation and excellence in building services, is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Technologist or Engineer to join their team in Cape Town.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and technically skilled individual with a passion for mechanical and/or mechatronic engineering within the building services sector.


Responsibilities

  • Support the Lead Engineer and design teams in delivering comprehensive Building Services Design.

  • Prepare and compile design documentation, technical specifications, and bills of quantities for a variety of building projects.

  • Manage contract supervision for active projects and ensure compliance with design standards.

  • Perform site assessments and surveys, and address on-site technical issues.

  • Engage and liaise with clients, team members, and industry professionals throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Develop detailed designs from conceptual stages through to execution.

  • Coordinate with CAD/Revit personnel to translate design into detailed engineering models and drawings.

  • Contribute to Revit/BIM model development and ensure deliverables are aligned with project requirements.

  • Compile tender documentation, participate in tender adjudication, and draft reports.

  • Handle technical and financial contract administration.

  • Prepare minutes and maintain thorough documentation of meetings and communications.


Requirements

  • BTech or BEng in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.

  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably within a consulting engineering environment.

  • Bilingual in English and Afrikaans (Essential).

  • Proficient and experienced in Revit Modelling and BIM workflows (Advantageous).

  • Strong technical writing skills for reports and specifications.

  • Solid communication and organizational abilities.

  • Willingness to work both independently and as part of a collaborative design team.

  • Valid driver’s license and own transport (advantageous for site visits).
