Mechanical Design Technologist/Engineer (Consulting) – CPT
Job Description
Hire Resolve’s client, a reputable and forward-thinking consulting engineering firm known for its commitment to innovation and excellence in building services, is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Technologist or Engineer to join their team in Cape Town.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and technically skilled individual with a passion for mechanical and/or mechatronic engineering within the building services sector.
Responsibilities

Support the Lead Engineer and design teams in delivering comprehensive Building Services Design.

Prepare and compile design documentation, technical specifications, and bills of quantities for a variety of building projects.

Manage contract supervision for active projects and ensure compliance with design standards.

Perform site assessments and surveys, and address on-site technical issues.

Engage and liaise with clients, team members, and industry professionals throughout the project lifecycle.

Develop detailed designs from conceptual stages through to execution.

Coordinate with CAD/Revit personnel to translate design into detailed engineering models and drawings.

Contribute to Revit/BIM model development and ensure deliverables are aligned with project requirements.

Compile tender documentation, participate in tender adjudication, and draft reports.

Handle technical and financial contract administration.

Prepare minutes and maintain thorough documentation of meetings and communications.
Requirements
-
BTech or BEng in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.

Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably within a consulting engineering environment.

Bilingual in English and Afrikaans (Essential).

Proficient and experienced in Revit Modelling and BIM workflows (Advantageous).

Strong technical writing skills for reports and specifications.

Solid communication and organizational abilities.

Willingness to work both independently and as part of a collaborative design team.

Valid driver’s license and own transport (advantageous for site visits).
