Senior Accountant

Are you an experienced accounting professional with strong leadership skills and the ability to manage junior staff while handling complex financial work? A well-established firm in Roodepoort is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their growing team.

📍 Location: Roodepoort
💰 Salary: R30 000 – R40 000 per month
🕒 Working Hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 08:00 – 16:00

• Friday: 08:00 – 13:00

🔍 What You’ll Do:

• Prepare financial statements for Companies and Trusts

• Perform monthly accounting work for various clients

• Send monthly management accounts to clients

• Submit VAT returns

• Perform tax calculations for Individuals, Companies, and Trusts

• Complete and submit tax returns via SARS e-Filing, Greatsoft, and Xero

• Review SARS assessments for accuracy

• Handle SARS-related admin on behalf of clients

• Bonus: Ability to prepare SARS objections will be advantageous

• Leadership: Manage and oversee 1–2 Junior Accountants

✅ Requirements:

• Qualifications: BCom Accounting or similar
  OR at least 3+ years of experience in an accounting practice

• Experience: Minimum 3 years in a similar environment

• Software Skills:

  • Excel proficiency

  • Experience with any accounting software (Xero is a strong advantage)

📍 Ligging: Roodepoort

• Maandag tot Donderdag: 08:00 – 16:00

• Vrydag: 08:00 – 13:00

🔍 Wat jy gaan doen:

• Opstel van finansiële state vir Maatskappye en Trusts

• Maandelikse rekeningkundige werk vir kliënte

• Uitstuur van bestuurstate aan kliënte

• Indiening van BTW-opgawes

• Belastingberekeninge vir individue, maatskappye en trusts

• Voltooi en indien van belastingopgawes via SARS e-Filing, Greatsoft en Xero

• Nagan van SARS-aanslae vir korrektheid

• Hantering van SARS-administrasie namens kliënte

• Voordeel: Dit sal voordelig wees as jy besware aan SARS kan voorberei

• Leierskap: Bestuur en toesig oor 1–2 Junior Rekenmeesters

✅ Vereistes:

• Kwalifikasie: BCom Rek of soortgelyke kwalifikasie
  OF minstens 3+ jaar ondervinding in ’n rekeningkundige praktyk

• Ervaring: Minimum van 3 jaar in ’n soortgelyke omgewing

• Sagtewarevaardighede:

  • Vaardig in Excel

  • Ervaring met enige rekeningkundige sagteware (Xero is ’n groot voordeel)
