Senior Bookkeeper
Job Description
Responsibilities
Procurement and Suppliers
-
Process supplier invoices, credit notes, and payments
-
Understand and apply procurement policies and Levels of Authority
-
Maintain relationships with suppliers’ finance departments
-
File all supporting documentation appropriately
-
Provide support in related areas as needed
General Accounting Records and Reconciliations
-
Prepare cash books and bank reconciliations
-
Complete supplier account reconciliations
-
Maintain and verify fixed asset registers
-
Process journal entries for routine transactions
-
Compile reconciliation schedules for simple account balances
-
Ensure accurate recording of primary source documents
-
Support intercompany transaction reporting and confirmations
Management Information
-
Assist in the preparation of management reports and budget schedules
Sales Function
-
Process customer invoices, credit notes, statements, and deposits
-
Support collection of outstanding balances
Treasury and Financial Soundness
-
Report daily cash and bank balances
-
Coordinate payment release process
-
Assist in preparing weekly and long-term cash flow projections
Taxation
-
Prepare and submit:
-
VAT returns
-
EMP returns
-
Income Tax returns (for simple entities)
-
Audit and Year-End
-
Assist with the preparation of information for internal and external audits
Special Projects
-
Support other business activities or projects as needed
Strategic and Other Areas
-
Participate in relevant meetings
-
Apply basic subject knowledge and policy principles
-
Communicate and make decisions within limited scope
-
Support implementation of strategy and ensure task execution
Requirements
Education
-
Grade 12 with Accounting
-
Certificate or Diploma in Bookkeeping/Accounting or equivalent
Experience
-
5 to 7 years’ experience in bookkeeping/accounting
-
Minimum 2 years as Bookkeeper II

Sage X3 ERP

Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
