Assistant Financial Accountant (Fixed-Term Contract)
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
– Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets
– Monitor and analyse financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness
– Manage financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and cash management-Assist with tax compliance and reporting, including preparing tax returns and maintaining records
– Prepare and submit regulatory reports in compliance with PFMA requirements
– Conduct financial analysis and forecasting to support business decisions
– Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulations
– Work closely with auditors to prepare for and facilitate audits
– Provide financial guidance and support to internal stakeholders
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field with three years accounting articles.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in management accounting in a large, complex organisation with multidimensional businesses or within the financial services sector.
- A strong career track record in financial accounting in a large, complex organisation with multidimensional businesses or within the financial services sector for a minimum period of 3 years.
- Experience in the preparation of IFRS compliant financial statements
- Working experience in taxation computations and SARS e-filing submissions (value-added tax).
- Strong understanding of and a strong commitment to good corporate governance and specifically international reporting standards including IFRS and other regulatory requirements including the PFMA.
- Excellent accounting and reconciliation skills.
