Professional Quantity Surveyor
Job Description

Requirements:

BSc or BTech in Quantity Surveying
-
Registered Professional (SACQSP)
-
5+ years’ experience in the construction industry
-
Strong background in cost estimation, tendering, and contract administration
-
Proficient in software such as WinQS, CCS Candy, or BuildSmart
Responsibilities:
-
Prepare and manage accurate cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for construction projects.

Measure and quantify materials, labour, and services required for project delivery (BOQs).

Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analysis to support project planning.

Administer contracts, including tendering processes, contract negotiation, and compliance monitoring.

Evaluate and approve subcontractor quotations and progress claims.

Monitor project costs throughout all phases and identify any variations or cost overruns.

Manage change control processes and assess the cost impact of design or scope changes.

Prepare interim and final account valuations and settle final accounts with contractors.

Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure alignment on project costs and timelines.

Ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and professional standards (e.g., SACQSP, JBCC/FIDIC contracts).

Provide strategic input into value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.

Support project risk management through cost-related insights and forecasting.
