Asset Manager – Mining Industry – R1.9mil – R1.5mil
Job Description
RPO Recruitment’s Client is urgently seeking the expertise of an Asset Manager in the Northern Cape. The successful candidate will provide expertise in the maintenance of equipment ensuring plant and equipment is maintained effectively and operated in a safe and reliable condition, through the development and implementation of maintenance strategies and tactics for the management of assets and equipment whilst optimizing the interface with other mine systems and equipment aligned with the Asset Management policies framework and ISO 55000. To co-ordinate and manage the equipment maintenance programs on the Mine in terms of the relevant legislation such as the MHSA ensuring that assets deliver value, mitigate risk and achieve the organization’s objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Technical analysis skills
- Ability to apply structured methodologies such as root cause analysis and statistical analysis to investigate risks and opportunities to create effective Engineering solutions
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to adopts a systematic approach to problem-solving, drawing on engineering knowledge and appropriate sources of information to test assumptions and generate viable options
- Electrical, Control & Instrumentation knowledge
- Applies professional knowledge of electrical engineering, including control and instrumentation and translate knowledge into meaningful input to projects and operations to enhance and support business performance and production outputs
- Mechanical Engineering knowledge
- Applies professional knowledge of mechanical engineering including thermodynamics mechanics, mechanical systems and structural designs, and translate into meaningful input to projects and operations to maintain, enhance business performance and to deliver effective technical solutions to problems
- Civil Engineering knowledge
- Understands the principles of civil engineering and the relevant application of tools and techniques to support operations and projects and to translate knowledge of environmental geotechnical, structural and transportation engineering into meaningful input that support decision making and enhances the potential of projects and operations
- Asset management skills
- Ability to apply and embed effective management of assets through monitoring, maintaining and upgrading assets to optimize efficiency, availability and reliability of equipment
- Project management skills
- Research and development skills
Requirements:
- Degree / B. Tech Degree (NQF Level 7) in Mechanical Engineering
- GCC Engineering certificate (Mines and Works)
- Asset Management Maintenance Professional certificate or equivalent
- 3 years operational Engineering Maintenance Management experience within the mining environment
- 3 years operational Asset Management experience
- 2 years operational Management / Managerial experience
- 2 years Team/Project leader/Supervisor experience in a project environment
