Civil Engineer – (Stormwater Systems) Cape Town

Hire Resolve’s client, a reputable multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy renowned for delivering innovative infrastructure solutions across Southern Africa, is currently seeking a Civil Engineer to join their team in Cape Town on a full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and skilled professional looking to work on impactful civil engineering projects including condition assessments, stormwater management, and infrastructure upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Conduct condition assessments of civil infrastructure, identifying structural defects and their implications.

• Utilize defect rating systems to evaluate and categorize deterioration (e.g., cracks, corrosion).

• Develop and maintain asset registers with condition ratings and risk profiles for better maintenance planning.

• Prepare comprehensive technical reports on infrastructure condition, repair plans, and long-term strategies.

• Engage with municipal stakeholders and clients to ensure successful project outcomes.

• Analyze visual data to estimate repair needs and forecast infrastructure risks.

• Assist in stormwater management projects, including site assessment, hydraulic modeling, and conceptual design.

• Manage projects through organizing meetings, taking minutes, and maintaining client communication.

• Contribute to the design process for a variety of civil engineering initiatives.

• Maintain proactive and professional communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Education: BScEng Civil Engineering (Honours) from an accredited institution.

• Professional Registration: Registered with a recognized professional council (e.g., ECSA).

• Experience: 3–5 years’ experience in civil engineering, specifically in condition assessments, stormwater systems, and infrastructure development.

• Technical Skills: Proficient in Civil Designer (for stormwater modeling), Microsoft Excel, and other engineering tools.

• Soft Skills: Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities. Able to adapt in a dynamic work environment and lead project components independently.
