MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The job incumbent will be responsible for managing, leading and controlling the engineering maintenance activities.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION REGARDING THE JOB.

In this position, the job incumbent will be part of the engineering mechanical team (MHH) at MMC and play an important role in working closely with various engineering teams and other departments to achieve the desired equipment uptime and efficiency through effective planning and execution of maintenance of mechanical equipment. This position is a great opportunity for the incumbent to display their skills in leading teams, planning of maintenance, resolving challenges associated with breakdowns, fault finding and repairs of equipment. The job requires a self-starter, energetic individual and a doer.

MMC operates on a 24hr/365-day basis. Success in this role happens when the desired uptime and throughput of equipment is achieved at the lowest cost. Risk assessments, work planning and execution will form part of your daily routine.

OBJECTIVES:

• Support achievement of the operational plan.
• Participate in management of the specific operational and maintenance plans for the relevant section.
• Ensure plant/process is fully operational.
• Project Management.
• Adherence & Compliance to all HSEQ legislation, policy & procedures.
• Supervising the team.
• Adhere to section cost control measures.
• Perform administrative tasks as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• N5 & Relevant Trade Certificate (Mechanical) or Mechanical Engineering National Diploma/ Degree.
• Computer Literacy (Basic).
• 5 years of relevant experience in the mechanical field, preferably in a senior or supervisory role.
• Code 08 Drivers License.
