Code 10 Truck driver

About the company: Import/ Export of Seafood 

Location: Phillipi, Western Cape 
Salary: Market related 
Working Hours: 08h00 – 17h00 (may fluctuate based on production/operational demands)
Contract Type: Permanent (subject to a 6-month probation period)

Job Purpose

To ensure the secure transportation, loading, and offloading of seafood products in accordance with instructions, while upholding food safety, quality standards, and timely deliveries.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric or equivalent qualification

• Valid Code 10 Driver’s Licence with no endorsements

• 3–5 years’ experience operating a truck in accordance with Code 10 requirements

• Experience with cold store trucks is advantageous

• Thorough knowledge of Cape Town routes and surrounding areas

Key Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical and safety compliance

• Drive safely and adhere to road regulations

• Maintain the security of goods in transit

• Follow scheduled delivery routes and times

• Ensure delivery notes and invoices are accurately completed

• Comply with customer and supplier delivery area protocols

• Uphold Food Safety and Quality procedures at all times

• Assist with manual loading/offloading of stock when required

• Immediately report any delays or inability to meet delivery targets to the line manager
