International Banking Officer

Hire Resolve’s client, a well-established bank, is seeking a skilled International Banking Officer to join their team at their Head Office in Durban. This is an exciting opportunity for a banking professional with experience in cross-border payments, international trade finance, and exchange control regulations to contribute to a dynamic and growing financial institution. Responsibilities

• Receive and review applications for Letters of Credit and ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies and regulations.
• Process Import Bills for Collection, ensuring completeness and compliance with banking procedures.
• Handle outward telegraphic transfers, verifying documents, ensuring fund availability, and coordinating with EXCON and the dealing room for exchange rate booking.
• Process foreign non-documentary transactions (TTI), verifying banking details, obtaining approvals, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Address customer complaints, resolve inquiries, and provide timely feedback to clients.
• Monitor emails, update reports, and track payments to ensure smooth international transactions.
• Assist internal departments with banking inquiries and provide necessary feedback on audit findings.
• Ensure all transactions comply with Shariah regulations and international banking standards.
• Participate in departmental projects and process improvements to enhance service delivery.

Requirements

• Matric qualification is essential.
• A diploma or recognized certificate in International Trade is advantageous.
• 2 to 5 years of general banking experience with exposure to accounting and international trade finance.
• Strong knowledge of international banking practices, exchange control regulations, and cross-border payments.
• Ability to work under pressure and ensure timely processing of transactions.
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
