Job Description


Main Purpose of the Job
To manage the engineering implementation team, which has to technically define, quantify and solve Booyco engineering integration design problems; To manage the drafting of technical specifications, standards and technical supporting documentation; To manage the processes for BOMs, NPG’s, CM’s and supporting technical documentation; To manage the assistance to the research and development team; To manage the assistance the product support team; To manage the assistance to the production and repair teams.

Education, experience and competencies

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical or Engineering (Masters – advantage)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar role
  • Management experience (advantage)
  • Syspro experience (advantage)
  • Advanced technical product knowledge.
  • Valid Driver’s Licence

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the engineering product integration and improvement team, which must technically define, quantify and solve Booyco engineering design problems
  • Technically defining, quantifying and solving engineering integration design problems
  • Drafting specifications, standards and technical supporting documentation
  • Testing and verifying new hardware and software specifications
  • Verifying supporting technical documentation
  • Manage the drafting of technical specifications, standards and technical supporting documentation
  • Manage the processes for BOMs, NPG’s, CM’s and supporting technical documentation
  • Manage the assistance to the research and development, product support, production and repairs teams
  • Review daily performance of drafting team.
  • Review the performance of the NPG, CM & BOM Controller, Electronic Technologists, Electronic Technicians and the software team
  • Attend meetings as required by this profile.
  • Maintain the Booyco Standards.
  • Maintain feedback data and information as required for MANCO feedback.
  • Monthly Task Provide MANCO feedback to GM Engineering on monthly performance vs targets by the specified dates.
  • Perform any reasonable adhoc tasks and duties required by management.
  • Ensure the Production and Product Support Teams are supplied with all reports, technical documentation, drawings and other data as required.
  • Responsible for all NPG’s, BOMS and CM.s
  • Responsible for all technical aspects for Product Integration & Improvement
  • Weekly and Monthly performance reports
  • Ensure product “family trees” are maintained.
  • Ensure drawings are reviewed and up to date.
  • Ensure the NPG and CM Trackers are up to date.
  • Ensure the Engineering Department Stock is controlled.
  • Reading and interpreting panel wiring diagrams and set layouts
  • Knowledge of engineering draughting practises and recording of original, marked up and final drawings.
